I also met Sheila and Rhoda ("Thing 1" and "Thing 2", below) in the process. They live locally, and offered to take care of all 4 kids so that my friends and I could catch up on a lot of stuff... including tricking them into riding all of the rollercoasters (yeah)!!! Oh, and getting us all soaked in those other crazy rides (nevermind the messy hair)! Loved it (now, they don't trust me)!
I'm glad I showed up; it was totally worth it. It's nice to finally get to hang out with friends within the same age group...and not to have to worry about my parents or kids, for a change!
